The cottage is located approximately 1 km from Kathaluwa Beach, offering opportunities for swimming and surfing, with popular destinations including Ahangama, Weligama, Unawatuna and Mirissa within easy reach.
The Space
The cottage features three air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and beautiful lake views.
First Floor
The spacious master bedroom includes:
- Large ensuite bathroom
- Comfortable sitting area with sofas
- Writing desk
- Balcony extending along two sides of the room
- Spectacular views over Koggala Lake
Ground Floor
Two additional air-conditioned bedrooms each feature:
- Large comfortable bed
- Modern ensuite bathroom
- Views of the lake
The living and dining area is located on the verandah, providing a wonderful setting for meals and relaxation while enjoying panoramic views of Koggala Lake.
The centrally located kitchen is available for self-catering, and guests can also request cooking demonstrations or have meals prepared by the staff.
Dining & Service
South Point Cottage offers the flexibility of self-catering or catered stays. The dedicated staff are available to assist with meals, tours and other arrangements throughout your stay.
Meals can be served in the garden or on the pier upon request.
Fresh seafood, live crabs, lobster, fresh fruit and vegetables can be purchased daily on request. Vegetarian, vegan and Halal meals can also be arranged.
Meals are charged separately from the villa rental, and guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol with no corkage fee.
If you require a hot meal or snack between 9:00 pm and 7:00 am, advance notice is required.
Guest Access
Guests have full and exclusive access to the entire property.
The kitchen is conveniently located in the centre of the cottage, allowing guests to prepare their own meals or watch the chef at work.
The manager is available to assist with tours, meals and local arrangements and will introduce guests to the night watchman, who also serves as a boatman. He is known for his unique way of attracting wild monkeys by gently banging two coconut shells together.
Long-term rentals are also available.
Guests staying at South Point Cottage may also enjoy complimentary day access to the owner's three beach villas, approximately 1 km away, when they are not occupied. Guests are welcome to relax at the beach villas or dine there when available.

Additional Information
The pool and lake areas are not fenced, and there are no lifeguards at the property. Guests, particularly families with children, should exercise appropriate caution around all water areas.
All bedrooms have bolt locks and padlocks. Guests are encouraged to secure their rooms when not in use. If the entire group leaves the property, staff can assist with securing the main entrance.
A night watchman is on duty from 5:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Visible CCTV cameras are installed around the property for guest security.
Driver accommodation is not available at the cottage, but nearby accommodation can be arranged at approximately Rs. 3,000 per night, subject to change.
Celebrations
Guests are welcome to enjoy music and celebrations while being considerate of neighbouring properties. Firework displays and cultural performances can also be arranged on request.
