The Old Manor House – A 16th Century Country Retreat
Dating back to the 16th century, The Old Manor House is a beautifully preserved historic home that retains the charm and character of its origins, with original beams and period features throughout. This elegant countryside retreat offers guests a warm welcome, refined comfort, and a truly memorable stay.
Accommodation
The Beecham Room is a spacious and traditionally furnished room, presented as a twin but easily converted into a king-size bedroom upon request. The room features a private bathroom with both bath and shower, a hairdryer, and tea and coffee facilities. All guest rooms are located within the main house and are furnished in classic country style, with some rooms decorated exclusively by Colefax and Fowler.
Guest Experience
Guests typically arrive from 4:30pm, an ideal time to enjoy a warm welcome from Jane, along with afternoon tea and a guided introduction to the house. Tea is served in the elegant drawing room with glorious views over the landscaped gardens, or outdoors during the summer months. The living room is exclusively for guest use, offering a peaceful and private space to relax.
A full English breakfast is served each morning in the dining room, with all dietary requirements happily catered for.
Grounds & Amenities
The beautifully landscaped grounds are open for guests to explore, and picnics are welcome (guests provide their own food, with plates and glasses supplied). There is ample free parking, a tennis court available for guest use, and a large fridge for guests’ convenience. A washer and dryer can be made available upon request.

Jane takes great pleasure in personally welcoming guests and is always happy to assist with local recommendations or any questions during your stay. On the rare occasion she is unavailable, guests will be notified in advance and alternative arrangements will be made.
