Upper Carlane Court is a welcoming holiday barn conversion in a lovely location within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is one of three well-appointed self-contained properties at Carlane Court in Slapton, sleeping six people in three bedrooms with two more on a comfortable sofa bed and one on a pull-out trundle bed in the bunk room together with an open-plan living area ideal for families. A village shop and two friendly pubs, The Queen's Arms and The Tower Inn, are only a short walk away. Slapton Sands is only a mile away, while the beautiful Slapton Ley Nature Reserve is even closer. The holiday properties are very well-equipped for relaxed family holidays by the coast. The property is ideal to be booked on its own or with one of the other properties for a multi-generational holiday or celebration.
Slapton Sands' calm waters are a favourite for swimming, paddle boarding and fishing. There's a lifeguard on duty in the summer at the Tor Cross end together with a cafe and other amenities, so you don't have to pop home if you forget anything. A narrow shingle bar separates the beach from Slapton Ley. Many visitors are surprised to discover the large lake is freshwater despite being so close to the sea, but the diverse landscape is one reason this region is so special. An ideal location for walking the South West Coast Path between Dartmouth and Salcombe which affords beautiful views in every season. Other local beaches include Strete Gate, Blackpool Sands and Beesands.
Day trips from Upper Carlane Court can include sightseeing in Dartmouth, a historic naval town with excellent amenities and a busy harbour. Ideal for taking the steam train to Paignton or cruising the local waters. Alternatively, drive south to the English Riviera, Brixham, Paignton and Torquay which are also within easy reach, as is Dartmoor National Park. There is a wide range of attractions and activities to enjoy, including paddle boarding, kayaking, golf, sea fishing, horse riding, and cycling. Woodlands Family Theme Park is an all weather family theme park for when the weather lets you down or even wine tasting at Calancombe Estate. There are also country houses and gardens to enjoy and a wealth of charming towns and villages with their own character.
Upper Carlane Court is available for bookings all year round. It can be booked together with other properties at Carlane Court to accommodate extended families and groups of friends. Plenty of parking and EV charging also available.

All accommodation is on one level without any large steps so may be suitable for those with limited mobility.

The kitchen/dinning area has a wonderful modern country vibe with high-quality appliances that include a dishwasher and a coffee machine, as well as plates, cutlery, glassware and serving platters. The oval dining table is roomy enough for everyone, and a highchair is available.

Additional information: Utilities, WiFi, bamboo bedding and bath towels are all provided. Guests to bring beach towels if they are required. There is a supplement for using the sofa bed. A laundry room shared with the other properties has a couple washing machines. Upper Carlane Court is a no-smoking property. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be accepted in this property (Lower Carlane Court and The Stables offers dog-friendly accommodation). The property offers single level accommodation without sizeable steps so may be suitable for those with limited mobility (please note: bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible and are standard sizing) - please speak to the owner to discuss your requirements before booking.
