Outside, on the veranda is an outdoor dining setting a bench seat a BBQ and beautiful views over the property. We highly recommend enjoying a drink and some nibbles on the veranda while watching the sun set.

Frankland River Retreat is a peaceful location where you can switch off, read a book, relax, have a digital detox or rest and enjoy a slower pace.

Walking & photography
Guests are welcome to walk around the property and along the river that showcases nature, some wildlife and rural charm.
Frankland River Retreat is also an ideal place for keen photographers and astro photographers, as there's no light pollution you can take some great photos of the stars at night and you can go walking around the property and gets some great photos along the river.
There are plenty of opportunity for amateur/professional photographers or just use your mobile phone to capture some memories.
Star Gazing
Because there is practically no light pollution, the night sky is spectacular. See if you can spot the Southern Cross and the other constellations.
Birdwatching
Over twenty different types of birds have been seen at Frankland River Retreat. if you cant spot them you can certainly hear them singing.
If your feeling more adventurous or want to go sightseeing Frankland River Retreat is a great location to venture out to Albany, Denmark, Pemberton, tall karri trees of Gloucester National Park, Walpole, Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, Stirling Range National Park, Bluff Knoll and Porongurup National Park . its a great location for that get away.

PLEASE NOTE: There is only Telstra 4G mobile reception in the area
Due to insurance - We do not allow any camp fires or fire pits of any kind at the property.
* FESA (fire emergency services Australia) also has a total outdoor fire ban between 1st November - 30th April
Throughout the year there are time when there are sheep located in the paddocks, please ensure gates are secured shut if used to access the fields.
Strictly No Pets allowed at the property.
The Homestead is located 14Kms from Frankland Town, The General store is the nearest shop for groceries and petrol.
Spend your evenings on the veranda , enjoying a glass of the local wine.
Frankland River has plenty of friendly wineries with visiting cellars, Alkoomi, Ferngrove and Frankland Estate.
Please check and contact wineries for opening times before visiting as Alkoomi winery has cellar door open 7 days per week. Ferngrove & Frankland Estate cellar doors are by appointment.
