The space
Grade II Listed ancient farmstead in 5 acres of wild flora and old orchards, farmed under a stewardship agreement with Natural England; and surrounded by 34 square miles of ancient forest, laced with off-road trails. Set in idyllic rustic countryside, scattered with picturesque historic market towns.
Guest access
Besides their private secured garden, and parking yards, guests have free access to 2ha (5acres) of wildflower meadows and ancient orchards within the immediate cottage grounds, together with a National Nature Reserve on the doorstep; that includes much of the surrounding 34 square miles of ancient woodland and mixed forestry. The forest in turn is set between miles of idyllic rustic rolling hills to the north and south plus the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the West. A vast network of designated and waymarked long-distance, and shorter footpaths and bridleways runs in all directions from the property door.
Other things to note
Resident guests are welcome to our home-grown vegetables. And subject to careful identification to check toxicity, to forage for our mushrooms, blackberries, apples, elderberries, greengages, plums, damsons, sloes, mulberries, cherries, nectarines, figs, apricots, pears, herbs and other wild fruits in season. Fresh eggs may be available from the next door farm on request.
